Every girl is required to do a group cheer and dance.  They also have to make up a cheer to perform by themselves.

Words to the Cheer

Tryout Tips:

*Calm your nerves by reviewingyour skills-stress your assets, don't dwell on weak areas.

*Remember that you're not alone-every cheerleader, new or seasoned, has to go through tryouts.

*Resists sizing yourself up against other hopefuls: you'll be judged on your won merits.

*In your mind's eye, picture yourself hitting every motion, every jump perfectly.

*Believe in yourself-if you set your mind to it, you can do it!

*Direct your words toward the judges not down or up.

* Drink plenty of fluids to keep your throat (and body) hydrated.

*Don't sing-project the words from your diaphragm.

*Shortening your words will have a sharpening effect on your motions.

* E-nun-ci-ate your words!

*Always position yourself towards the front when learning new material.

*Pay attention to detail.

*Don't be afraid to ask questions.

*Practice percfection from the very start.
